Joe's College Graduation - May 21, 2004
Welcome Page

Throughout all the years of raising a child, there are various milestones that are achieved. On May 21, 2004, our son Joe reached one of those milestones. He graduated from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with a B.S. Degree in Computer Science and a Minor in Math. To our delight, friends and family from both the East and West Coasts came to The Springs to help us celebrate this wonderful event.

On Thursday, May 20th, the first night that everyone was together here in The Springs, we started celebrating with an Italian family dinner at our house. The menu consisted of shrimp cocktail, fruit salad, tossed salad, homemade pasta and sauce, with meatballs, sausage, and braccolia. For dessert there was homemade ricotta pie and a tray of homemade Italian cookies. The wine flowed and the fun and good cheer went on into the night.

Early the next morning, Friday May 21st, everyone convened at our home where we took pictures with the graduate in his cap and gown. We then all climbed into the 15 passenger van ("The Bus") for the drive to the World Arena. There, we witnessed the culmination of hard work for 1660 graduates. Joe sat directly below our third level seats so we had quite the view of him.

After the ceremony, we drove to Mollica's Italian Deli/Restaurant for lunch. There we had the private banquet room, and the menu consisted of: antipasto, sausage bread, lasagna, chicken parmigiana, chicken marsala, and gnocchi with garlic, olive oil, and walnuts. For dessert there were canollis. Mmmmmmmm

We returned home to begin getting ready for the open house where we had another assortment of food, open liquor bar and lots of fun and socializing. This was a great opportunity for our family and friends from both coasts to meet our new-found friends in The Springs. The party went on until 1:00A.M.

It was an incredible joy to share the excitement of Joe's graduation with all our family and friends from the East Coast, West Coast and The Springs. We hope that these photos help to convey the joy and pride that we all shared in Joe's accomplishment.
