Ketchikan is a Tlingit (the "T" is silent) Indian word for "Eagle with spread wings". So, at the edge of town, by the harbor, is the wood sculpture entitled "Thundering Wings" by the renowned Tlinglit master sculptor, Nathan P. Jackson, who we will meet later when we visit Saxman Village. That is our ship in the background.
