The following videos were taken with my little Nikon Coolpix Digital Camera. They are obviously not Hi-Def, but will give you an idea what is was like to be there in the middle of the crowd.

1. Obama enters the stage.

2. President Elect Obama takes the oath of office.

This is a very interesting interview by Soledad O'Brien and Roland Martin of Clarence Jones, speachwriter for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speach. He gives some little-known details about the writing of the speach. The interview took place on the National Mall and I was in the crowd on my cell phone talking to my Dad as he watched on TV.

While you are listening to the interview, look closely mostly in the upper right of the screen to see me in the crowd. Here are the time cues in minutes and seconds:

  • 00:26-00:46 - Me hatless and in sunglasses, on cell phone and waving between Soledad O'Brien and Roland Martin.
  • 02:17-02:25 - Me on the far right (to the right of Roland Martin' head).
  • 03:06-03:15 - Me on the far right (to the right of Roland Martin' head).
  • 04:32-04:34 - Me on the far right.
  • 04:40-04:43 - Me on the far right.
  • 04:47-04:52 - Me on the far right.
  • 05:41-05:57 - Me on the far right.
  • 07:15-07:39 - Me on the far right.
  • 08:49-08:59 - Me on the far right.
  • 09:05-09:20 - Me on the far right.
  • 09:31-09:53 - Me in the center between Soledad O'Brien and Roland Martin.
  • 10:25-10:29 - Me in the very top left corner.
