On day 3 we once again head north of Santa Fe on routes 84/285 heading for San Ildefonso Pueblo. We stopped along the highway to view this overall scene of the Santa Fe environs and the Sangre de Christo Mountain range.. This a 4-photo panorama.

This was taken while traveling north of Santa Fe on routes 84/285 heading for San Ildefonso Pueblo. We once again see the blazing yellow of the Cottonwood trees and the Sangre de Christo Mountain range.

Here on San Ildefonso Pueblo we stopped at the Sunbeam Indian Arts, the gallery/shop of Barbara Gonzales, the great granddaughter of the famous Maria Martinez.

Inside the Sunbeam Indian Arts gallery on San Ildefonso Pueblo we met Robert Gonzalez, the husband of the artist, Barbara Gonzales, the great granddaughter of the famous Maria Martinez.

Inside the Sunbeam Indian Arts, the gallery/shop of Barbara Gonzales on San Ildefonso Pueblo, we saw this old family photo (circa 1976) showing the famous Indian potter, Maria Martinez (bottom center) along with her great granddaughter the artist, Barbara Gonzales (upper right).

After leaving San Ildefonso Pueblo, we headed west on Route 502 where we cross the Rio Grande River, and came upon this magnificent scene.

After leaving San Ildefonso Pueblo, we headed west on Route 502 where we cross the Rio Grande River, and came upon this magnificent scene.

After turning north onto Route 30 off of Route 502, we spotted Battleship Mesa and these beautiful clouds.

Just outside the San Ildefonso Pueblo, we see Black Mesa, a place sacred to the people of San Ildefonso Pueblo. In 1694 the Pueblo people and other Indian nations defended themselves here against the Spanish conquest.
